Flute teacher professional learning: preparing students for the new HSC Music Syllabuses

• Alex Manton will present on how flute teachers can support their students in preparing for the requirements of the new Year 11 and Year 12 Music 1, Music 2 and Music Extension syllabuses, which will be implemented from 2027.  

• Jude Huxtable will discuss her experience teaching flute in high schools, repertoire choices that tend to perform well and what classroom teachers are looking for in HSC performances.

• Performances of several under utilised contemporary Australian pieces which would suit your Music 1 and Music 2 students (performed by Alex Manton, Anna Cooper & Jocelyn Fazzone).
